Interesting. I've never considered a bunny to be badass, but if the terminology is working for you, I can roll with it...

As one "bunny" to a future Ms. Bunny, I want to help. All righteous men should want to help a woman who's seeking a noble life. Good news: there's no reason to stress yourself over how to act, flirt, or respond around a bunny. Unlike giraffes, bunnies want to know your heart. For better or for worst. Which is kind of great in the sense that there's no game you have to play to make yourself attractive -- and it's crazy scary, because you have to trust that the real you is beautiful and worth pursuing.

I think you're on a perfect track. If you begin investing your time and effort in allowing God to shape your heart through a life of purity and ministry, you are on the narrow path towards becoming the woman that a bunny will love more than himself. That's how God has called bunnies to love, but they reserve the hand of marriage for the righteous women that already know the love of the Lord that consumes them. If you want to know what bunnies love, all you have to do is explore the God they reflect.

You may be encouraged (?) to know that bunnies are just as bewildered by what to do with women in this culture. We have too much integrity to hunt like giraffes, but have too much masculinity not to lead the pursuit of love. I see God reforming in His Church everything that our society has falsely taught us about relationships and Godly sacrifice. I'm pleased to know that some ladies are along for the ride as well :-)

In case you care, here's some links to stuff I've written from the "bunny perspective." Take it for what it's worth -- I'm still working all this out as well. Press on and God bless.

That's some wise body wash; I must be purchasing mine from the wrong pharmacy :)

You asked: "Do I possess or reflect neverending grace? And if I don’t, is it because I believe my circle of influencers expect me to be steadfast, capable, opinionated and autonomous? Or because those characteristics are coping mechanisms left over from an abusive relationship?"

I would answer with three affirmatives.

By the very nature of your creation, you possess a neverending grace. This is the reflection of God's glory upon you. However, when you do not reflect the grace that is inherent within you, both of your reasons play a role.

Our culture does not value a gentle and quiet spirit. We promote aggressive ambition and autonomous independence, and to lack either of these things is indicative of poor self-image. Of course, both of these qualities are opposed to a life of grace, which depends on the Lord for every provision. This doesn't mean that your opinions or skills are not valid -- clearly they are in the message you communicate. But a gentle spirit is not anxious to promote itself or its ideas above the mysteries of our Creator. And a gentle spirit takes no offense at injustice upon itself, for it is more greatly concerned with the justice God will bring upon the earth.

Regrettably, our culture is not looking to remove itself. Your body wash is the exception, but even it has a product to sell. We have to hold our thoughts captive to His Word and deny the lies that are sold to the masses.

While we may have little part in shaping our culture, you have been given every source from His Spirit to tear down your own residual pain. Should we expect that abusive and hurtful relationships will leave a mess of mechanisms? Absolutely. But we have to face it head on and stop hiding. We have to call it what it is, and cease blaming ourselves for other people's actions. When we understand the truth of the matter, we are able to forgive those that have wronged us, and allow God to perform His own justice on them. Then we allow Him to bring us back to the vulnerable place where our coping mechanisms serve no use. Your strength, dignity, and laughter will come from the wonder of His restoration.

Continue to seek His truth, and He will not hide from you. He wants to know His child, and you are just that. Praise God along the way for each scale He removes in the healing process. Press on and God bless :)

The two cents of a single, Christian dude:

I have grown to expect nothing. The world will not cease to tempt the eyes of men, regardless of whether our Christian sisters are more sensitive to our issues. Therefore, I find no inherent sin in the two-piece swimsuit.

But here's the rub: accentuate your sexuality for the sake of attention, and you will receive exactly what you seek. And the men that ogle your skin will rarely be the men you desire to attain. So here's my thought, as a man pursuing righteousness as best I can in His strength: am I okay with my future wife placing her sexuality on display for hundreds of other men, or would I prefer even one more inch of skin to be saved for me alone?

A selfish and unfair question? Perhaps. But when I am searching for a heart that serves Him first, it makes it difficult to ignore. Lord knows that I don't want her to be perfect: spiritually speaking nor physically according to the world. I want to be with someone that is so overcome by His grace that she offers back to Him a genuine pursuit of holiness. He doesn't want our perfection; He has that. He wants us to be perfected [passive voice] in intimacy with Him. Purity isn't a goal -- it's the effect of a heart in tune with God.

And like most real men, I don't want a supermodel. If a gal can impress my heart and demonstrate her beauty in jeans and a hoodie, why would I be paying attention to the girl begging me to notice her skin? I'm not interested in that. Seems like a no brainer if one is going to great lengths to model her character, and the other will accept whichever eyes are present.
